Assessment and Diagnosis
To ensure the most accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans, Kaizen provides a comprehensive, interdisciplinary evaluation by specialists in Neuropsychiatry, Neurology, and Neuropsychology. All our providers have advanced training and in-depth experience in brain disorders, allowing them to avoid common misdiagnoses of complex disorders.
What We Diagnose
- Memory disorders – Neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), Alzheimer’s disease, and other dementias.
- Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Spectrum – Concussion, Post-Concussive Syndrome, and Neurodegenerative Diseases
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Vs. Post-Concussive Syndrome (PCS)
A Kaizen Comprehensive Evaluation may include:
Neurobehavioral Exam – A neurological and psychiatric analysis of behaviors, awareness, and perceptions to understand relationships between neurobehavioral components. For example, forgetfulness may be caused by anxiety (anxiety interferes with attention, and attention problems may cause forgetfulness).
Neurological Assessment – A thorough examination of the cranial nerves, motor system, sensory system, coordination, reflexes, walking and balance.
Neuropsychological Profile – An assessment of cognitive functioning that includes measures of memory, attention, planning, processing speed, and language. The Neuropsychological Profile may assess:
- Cognitive Global Functioning
- Language Functioning
- Verbal Learning and Visual Memory
- Perceptual-Spatial Functioning
- Attention & Executive Functioning
- Working Memory
- Sustained Attention
- Abstract Problem Solving
- Processing Speed
- Motor Functioning
EYE-SYNC Report – EYE-SYNC is a tracking device that allows providers to view, analyze, and record eye movements to identify brain impairment, especially as it relates to traumatic brain injury (TBI) / concussion. The Eye Sync Report provides details about eye movement variability or error when tracking a visual target.
KAIZEN PARTNER ASSESSMENTS
NeuroQuant MRI – Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) provides details about brain structure to identify brain abnormalities or changes. Kaizen Zenith uses MRI in conjunction with NeuroQuant® 3D volumetric post-process software to measure volumes of the hippocampus and other brain structures. NeuroQuant® compares these volumes to standard norms based on age, gender and cranial volume, so Kaizen providers can assess the risk for potential brain disorders such Alzheimer’s disease. Kaizen imaging partner: Imaging Healthcare Specialists (IHS).
HealthLytix Integrated Alzheimer’s Disease Risk Assessment – The HealthLytix Integrated Risk Assessment quantifies risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease within five years from a current age. The HealthLytix machine learning tool integrates current health information, including brain imaging, with genetic information to provide a comprehensive, real-time risk assessment as a function of age.
I am so grateful for the entire team at Kaizen. My son has a TBI and we have never received such stellar treatment. Dr. Ahmed has put together a team of professionals like no other. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for my family!
