Jim is a native San Diegan and has spent his whole life in America’s finest city. He developed a love for the STEM fields at a young age and often enjoyed nature hikes with his family and watching engineering shows. However, it was the field of biology that eventually drew the most of his interest. While studying Human Biology at UCSD, he was granted the Julia Brown Undergraduate Research Scholarship to study heart disease at the UCSD School of Medicine. He would then develop a love for medicine after interning at Palomar Medical Center, pushing him to later volunteer at health clinics in Tijuana, help lead a Pre-Med student organization, and acquire his EMT certification. Healthcare is now central to Jim’s life and he aspires to one day become a physician assistant with the goal of practicing multiple specialties throughout his career.
At Kaizen, Jim thoroughly enjoys working as a TMS Technician. It was making people happy that initially kickstarted Jim’s love for medicine and he gets to do that at Kaizen every day.
In his free time, Jim enjoys a variety of hobbies ranging from singing and dancing to fishing and fishkeeping. However, his interests are constantly changing, so he is always open to recommendations.
