Kaizen Brain Center was started to help people struggling with Traumatic Brain Injuries(TBI’s)/Concussions and were at risk of developing progressive neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease or Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), Parkinson’s disease. This was an unmet clinical need and people were falling between the cracks in our current healthcare system.

We addressed this through a collaborative, interdisciplinary care model by using a two-prong approach; developing innovative treatments to help our patients struggling with post-concussion symptoms and then monitoring them to pick up early stages of Alzheimer’s. COVID 19 pandemic created several hurdles to provide this care and we rose to the challenge by building our own digital platform to continue to care for our patients. Due to this monitoring, we were able to identify patients, including veterans in their 40’s with multiple concussions with Alzheimer’s protein deposition in their brains. They now have the opportunity to participate in clinical trials so that they can receive a disease-modifying drug which can remove the abnormal protein from their brain.

This was a total game-changer for our patients and an emotional moment for us as we achieved the goal Kaizen was started for in the first place. Since then, we have grown and expanded our services and continue to evolve into a collaborative neuroscience-based brain center.
