WHAT IS NEURAL STIMULATION?
Neural stimulation, or Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), is a non-invasive, proven treatment tool used to alleviate brain disorder symptoms such as depression and anxiety, migraines, impulsiveness, and fuzzy thinking.
TMS is FDA-Approved for treatment-resistant depression and CE-Approved for Alzheimer’s disease, Autism, Bipolar Disorder, chronic pain, Parkinson’s disease, PTSD, Schizophrenia, and smoking cessation.
How It Works
TMS is non-invasive. A treatment coil is placed against the head, where it emits short bursts of electromagnetic currents to targeted regions of the brain. The TMS magnetic field, which is similar to that produced by a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine, alters neural activity to establish a new normal.
Neuroplasticity, the brain’s remarkable ability to rebuild and expand neural connections, allows neural stimulation to strengthen networks disrupted by traumatic injury or neurodegenerative disorders.
Our Neuronavigation system uses MRI data to create a 3D reconstruction of the brain and guide current to treatment sites.
A non-invasive coil is positioned against the head to send magnetic pulses to targeted sites.
The patient is alert throughout the process. After a session, patients can resume activities like driving or working.
Traditional Targeting vs The Kaizen Approach
Traditionally, TMS treatment targets were chosen by estimating the location of the motor cortex and stimulating a point 5 cm toward the front of the skull. Years of experience led Kaizen specialists to create new protocols and use advanced biotechnologies to move beyond the traditional targeting method and improve treatment accuracy.
No visibility of the brain. Targeting is based on general knowledge of brain structure.
With no knowledge of the individual’s specific brain structure, the treatment range is broad, and the stimulation point can only be estimated.
Number of Symptoms Treated: One
MRI visibility of the brain. Targeting is based on the individual’s unique brain structure.
Neuronavigation accurately and safely guides TMS stimulation to specific treatment points.
Number of Symptoms Treated: Multiple
Multidisciplinary evaluation allows specialist to identify and treat multiple stimulation points for depression as well as correlated symptoms such as anxiety and impulsivity.
I am so grateful for the entire team at Kaizen. My son has a TBI and we have never received such stellar treatment. Dr. Ahmed has put together a team of professionals like no other. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for my family!
